Restored Brisbane Queenslander roof and gutters at golden hour

Brisbane Roof and Gutter Repairs

Matched to a specialist who actually shows up.

We match you to a vetted Brisbane roofer or gutter specialist for the job you have, then step out of the way. Honest written quotes. QBCC-licensed contractors. No pressure sales. No call-out tricks.

Before and after

What a Brisbane storm-damaged roof looks like, then properly restored.

Drag the handle to compare. Same Queenslander, same week. The repair was scoped, quoted in writing, and finished in three days by a QBCC-licensed specialist.

Vetted

QBCC-licensed only

Every roofer we connect you with holds a current QBCC Roof and Wall Cladding or builder licence. Verified at the start of every quarter.

Transparent

Quotes you can compare

We ask specialists to break costs out by line item, so you can see what you are paying for and what is being skipped, not a single lump sum.

Local

Brisbane LGA only

We do not pass leads to interstate call centres or operators outside Brisbane. The trade who quotes you is the trade who turns up.

Anatomy of a Brisbane roof

Eight parts of your roof, eight ways it can fail.

Most quotes name the symptom (a leak, a sag, a stain) without naming the part. Here is the cross-section your specialist should be talking about, and which trade licence covers each piece.

Most common causes of roof damage in Brisbane

Brisbane weather writes the brief. We just hand you the right specialist.

A typical Brisbane summer brings two to three significant storm events. The damage that lands on your roof almost always traces back to one of these three triggers, and each one needs a different trade response.

The starting point: a maintained roof

A pristine hipped tile roof on a Queenslander, gutters clear, ridge capping intact. Most Brisbane roofs sit here for years between events. Annual checks keep them here.

02

Tropical downpour and gutter overflow

Brisbane downpours dump water faster than blocked gutters and undersized downpipes can shed. Water tracks back under the tiles, into the sarking, and stains internal ceilings days later.

03

Hail, wind, and fallen branches

Supercell hail cracks tiles and dents Colorbond. Gum branches snap on the eastern fringe of the storm and fall through whatever they land on. This is the call that needs a roofer the same week, not the same month.

Built for Brisbane storm season

Hail, salt, and heritage rules: your roof faces all three.

The November 2025 supercell dropped 11 to 14 cm hail across Ferny Hills, Manly and the Redlands and triggered more than 11,000 insurance claims in a week. Brisbane roofs live a different life to roofs anywhere else in the country, and the right specialist for your suburb is not the same as the right specialist three suburbs over.

Bayside

Salt corrosion belt

Wynnum, Manly, Cleveland, Wellington Point. Colorbond fixings and gutter brackets corrode 2 to 3 times faster than inland suburbs. Marine-grade fasteners, sealed valleys, and 6-monthly gutter checks are the standard, not the upgrade.

Western corridor

Hail and supercell zone

Ferny Hills, Albany Creek, The Gap, Kenmore. The highest-frequency severe-hail corridor in South-East Queensland. Tile replacement runs and Colorbond dent repair dominate post-storm. Insurance reports must be photographic, not verbal.

Inner heritage

Heritage overlay zones

Paddington, Red Hill, Ascot, New Farm. Roof colour, profile, and ridge detail are constrained by Brisbane City Council overlay. A roofer who has never lodged a heritage compliance check will cost you weeks of rework.

Licensing in Queensland is split

Your job needs a roofer and a roof plumber. We confirm both.

In Queensland, tiles, sarking, and structural roofing fall under a QBCC Roof Tiling or Roof and Wall Cladding licence. Gutters, downpipes, valley flashings, and rainwater connections are roof plumbing work, regulated separately. A specialist who only holds one of those licences is technically not allowed to quote the other half of your job.

We verify both licences at the start of every quarter, plus QBCC Home Warranty Insurance for any contract over $3,300, and the 6 year 6 month structural defect coverage that goes with it.

  • Construction licence QBCC Roof and Wall Cladding
    Verified Q2 2026

Covers tile work, Colorbond, ridge capping and sarking. Without this licence, structural roofing work over $3,300 is unlawful in Queensland.

  • Plumbing licence QBCC Roof Plumbing
    Verified Q2 2026

Covers gutters, downpipes, valleys and flashings. A roofer cannot legally quote this scope without it. We confirm both licences for split jobs.

  • Statutory insurance QBCC Home Warranty
    Mandatory > $3,300

Issued before any work starts on a residential contract over $3,300. Covers structural defects for 6 years 6 months. Unique to Queensland.

  • Site insurance Public liability & workers comp
    Certificates on file

Current certificates of currency are sighted, not just claimed. Minimum $20M public liability. WorkCover Queensland active for every site worker.

  • Where relevant Asbestos Class B
    WHSQ regulated

Required for any fibro or pre-1987 cement-sheet roofing removal. We do not allow non-licensed removal at the 10 m² DIY threshold either.

Restoration, repair, or replacement

Three different jobs. The right one is rarely the most expensive one.

Roofers who lead with replacement when restoration would do it are either uninformed or upselling. Here is the short version of how a Brisbane property usually maps to a service, before any quote is written.

Roof repair

Targeted, days, lowest spend

Cracked or slipped tiles, lifted flashings, leaks tracked to a known point. Common after hail or a tradesperson stepping in the wrong place. Fix what is broken without disturbing the rest.

  • Tile and ridge cap replacement
  • Flashing and valley repair
  • Re-bedding and re-pointing

Roof restoration

Whole roof, 3 to 5 days, mid spend

Roof is structurally sound but tired: faded coating, brittle pointing, minor tile damage. Pressure clean, repair, re-point, then re-coat. Adds 10 to 15 years before a full reroof becomes the right call.

  • High pressure clean and repair
  • Flexible pointing replacement
  • Two coat membrane recoating

Roof replacement

Strip and reroof, 1 to 2 weeks, highest spend

Tiles cracking across the field, fibro or pre-1987 asbestos sheet, structural batten failure, or repeat insurance claims. Strip back to battens (or further), upgrade sarking, and reroof in tile or Colorbond.

  • Full strip and disposal
  • Asbestos handling where required
  • New sarking, battens, gutters
